5 good habits to adopt in the sun
Use suitable sun care creams
Choose your sun protection cream, based on your age, skin type, sun conditions and length of time spent in the sun. Remember that in the case of greater sun intensity, use a sun protection cream with a higher SPF. Sun intensity is even stronger when you are in higher altitudes or closer to the Equator.
Generously apply sun care
20 minutes before sun exposure, apply a generous and even layer of sun protection to cover the entire body area that will be exposed. Then, reapply every two hours and systematically after swimming or exercising. Please note: insufficient sun care application divides the level of protection by 2 or 3 and increases risks of sunburn.
Wear protective clothing
No sun care product can provide 100% protection against sun rays. It is therefore necessary to wear protective clothing in addition to sun care cream in order to filter UV rays: wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, dark tee-shirt…
Avoid the sun during the hottest hours of the day
Even when using sun protection, limit the time of exposure as much as possible and avoid direct exposure during the hours of maximum sun intensity (11 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
Sunbathe progressively
During the first few days of sun exposure, it is recommended to spend no more than 15 minutes in the sun to prevent sunburn and prepare your skin for subsequent exposure. In all cases, you must use a sun protection cream.
